Pointe-à-Callière Foundation: supporting the preservation of our local heritage
The Pointe-à-Callière Foundation, created in 1993, supports the Museum’s activities and growth, helps create bonds with the Montréal community, and provides financial support for the Museum.
The Foundation actively supports the Museum’s development by organizing fundraising activities, soliciting and accepting donations, managing the program for Members and volunteers and publishing Cité Magazine.
HOW ARE DONATIONS TO THE POINTE-À-CALLIÈRE FOUNDATION USED?
For the creation of the Montréal archeology and history complex
We provided funding for the acquisition of…
The Youville Pumping Station in 1998 and contributed to its development in 2000
The Mariners’ House in 2004 and for its development in 2013
The former warehouse at 214 Place D’Youville in 2000 and for the development of Fort Ville-Marie and the collector sewer in 2017
For the renovation of permanent exhibitions
We provide financial assistance to help the Museum stay up to date by…
Renewing all of the multimedia shows since the Museum first opened
Upgrading permanent exhibitions
Contributing to educational installations and programs
To forge ties with the university milieu
We provide money that helps fuel budding minds through…
The Archaeological Field School (in a partnership with the Université de Montréal), which, over the past 13 years, has welcomed and trained over 160 student interns who completed 17 practical work projects, 8 dissertations, and one doctoral thesis
The establishment of a program, in a partnership with Pratt & Whitney, that has provided 20 bursaries for second and third cycle students of history and archaeology
To ensure Pointe-à-Callière's sustainability
We support the Museum’s future…
By organizing a major fundraising campaign that has allowed for the establishment of an endowment fund of over $10 M
In addition, every year, the Foundation provides between $300,000 and $1 M for the Museum's Development!
