Montréal, January 15, 2020 – Starting January 30, 2020, Pointe-à-Callière will welcome chef and renowned food writer Philippe Mollé to the helm of L’Arrivage Bistro and the Museum’s catering service. Mr. Mollé’s team will serve market-fresh cuisine, both classic and modern, with a menu that is updated daily, showcasing local products.

It is an honour and a pleasure to be presenting a high-quality restaurant option that will enhance the visitor experience, offering an inventive and affordable menu for people who work in Old Montréal, while showcasing products from Québec,” explains Philippe Mollé.

The Museum is proud to welcome a chef of such great renown, with extensive and wide-ranging experience in the restaurant business, both here and abroad. Mr. Mollé’s vision is perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the Museum; we welcome him and wish him the greatest success,” says Francine Lelièvre, Executive Director of Pointe-à-Callière, who also thanks the previous chef and manager of L’Arrivage Bistro, Alexandre Mercier and his colleague Patrick Bélanger, for their exceptional work.

Open from 11:30 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, the bistro offers a lunchtime table d’hôte, a seasonal menu, and an express option that feature tasty dishes, prepared with great care, using quality products from local producers. The menu will offer meals with the same great value that L’Arrivage has been known for, but for those with a more refined palate, there will be an opportunity to add special ingredients to certain selections. The chef will also offer signature dishes—such as the “pavé de la commune” for dessert—that, in their own way, will tell the story of Montréal. The menu will also be adapted to coincide with the themes of various temporary exhibitions presented at Pointe-à-Callière, offering a complete and unique experience. Wines by the glass will also be available, as well as a selection of local gins.

Located on the 2nd floor of the Museum’s main building, the restaurant features a magnificent interior bathed in natural light, as well as a patio with one of the best views of the Old Port of Montréal.

Brunches, breakfasts, and catering
In addition to brunch menus for the general public on the weekend, L’Arrivage Bistro and Pointe-à-Callière are offering groups a chance to enjoy breakfast on-site (upon reservation), before taking their guided tour of the Museum. As Pointe-à-Callière has eleven rental spaces available, L'Arrivage’s catering service will allow event organizers to turn their receptions, happy hours, or corporate events into truly unforgettable gourmet experiences. The restaurant will also remain available for special events in the evening.

About Philippe Mollé
Originally from France, Philippe Mollé has become a veritable globetrotting gourmet. He settled in Montréal in 1980, working for five years at the Institut du tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), both as a teacher and in charge of the kitchen at the technological research centre.

Over his career, Philippe has had the opportunity to work for major enterprises, notably with Gaston Lenôtre and at Ledoyen Restaurant in Paris, then in Japan and Tahiti, at the Park Royal, before returning to Montréal to take part in the opening of the Loews Hôtel Vogue. He is also a lecturer, the author of several books, and a columnist for various media outlets, such as Le Devoir and Radio-Canada.
