Do you dare make your way into Pointe-à-Callière’s archaeological remains at Halloween?

The Museum and Échappe-toi – Aventure Immersive join forces for a unique event

Montréal, September 26, 2019 – Pointe-à-Callière and Échappe-toi – Aventure Immersive are staging a giant escape game for adults (18 and over) in the Museum’s archaeological remains on Halloween night. On October 31, during the Échappe-toi @ Pointe-à-Callière event, participants will be invited to make their way into the Museum’s lower levels to free the ghost of Montréal’s ill-fated governor from his curse.

With a DJ playing music as participants are welcomed into the Museum, the evening will start off with a free drink before the teams dive into the Museum’s remains with their game books. Participants will have to answer various riddles, making their way through the first Catholic cemetery in Ville-Marie and the first collector sewer in North America, as well as walking along the remains of Fort Ville-Marie. Throughout their journey, they will meet various characters as they uncover clues that will help them escape the Museum and free the governor’s spirit!

This is the first collaboration between Pointe-à-Callière and Échappe-toi – Aventure Immersive, and the first event of this kind to be held at the Museum. “Whether it is through the use of new technology, immersive museography, or interactive exhibitions, we always strive to innovate in order to bring history alive and create memorable experiences,” explained Francine Lelièvre, Executive Director of Pointe-à-Callière. “We believe that this event is a great way to spark young adults’ interest in Montréal history, to provide them with an enjoyable museum experience, and to showcase this exceptional archaeological site in a whole new way,” she added.

“In addition to our game rooms, we are increasingly working with cultural institutions and exceptional sites as a way of increasing awareness of history and culture through a fun and interactive approach,” explained Emmanuel de Gouvello, Founding President of Échappe-toi – Aventure Immersive. “We are very happy to be working with Pointe-à-Callière, as it is a unique site, filled with history and mystery. There is no better place to hold a large-scale escape game and celebrate Échappe-toi’s 5th anniversary,” he added.

The activity, taking place for one night only, is open to adults of age 18 and older, with tickets going on sale Friday, September 27, 2019, at the cost of $25 plus taxes; spaces are limited. The experience lasts two hours in all, and four timeslots are available to participants: 6:15 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:15 pm, and 9:15 pm. A free drink will be offered to participants thanks to Belle Gueule and sodas 1642. Halloween activities for all ages
In addition to the escape game, Pointe-à-Callière is also holding a Halloween activity for families on October 26 and 27. Young and old alike can take an interactive tour through the Museum’s archaeological remains to seek out the Strange Ghosts of Pointe-à-Callière. With an original narrative created by Simon Boulerice, nationally renowned author of youth literature, children will embark on an incredible adventure in which imagination and the fantastic go hand in hand. The activity is included in the price of admission to the Museum. More details: www.pacmusee.qc.ca/en/calendar/
