From 1844 to 1849, Montréal was the capital of the Province of Canada, playing a key role in the political and social transformations taking place in the country!

This period saw the adoption of important reforms, such as the recognition of responsible government and the officialization of French in the Parliament in 1848.

This display case in the departures area of the International Pier at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Aiport pays tribute to this period—which represented an important step in the genesis of modern Canada—and features a few interesting artifacts.

Not to be missed on your next trip abroad!
