An event benefitting the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation

Friday, October 4, 2024
Starting at 6 p.m.

Grand Quai of the Port of Montréal

Celebrating Montréal’s unique identity, the 2024 edition of the Ball will shine a spotlight on dance. As a witness to the city’s cultural and artistic evolution, dance tells the story of Montréal through its communities, its various eras, and its development. A festive theme that holds wonderful surprises in store!

A cocktail reception, gourmet meal, dance performances choreographed by Team White and guest artists, a virtual auction, and dancing are on the program for the event.

Funds raised by this event will go to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation to help support the Museum’s mission and development.

Imagine a journey through the city’s history through… dance!

From traditional dance to contemporary trends, this means of artistic expression has been a part of Montrealers’ lives down through the ages. Dances choreographed by Team White, big winners of the first season of the show Révolution, along with performances by guest artists, will liven up the event.

Revisit traditional evenings of “danses câllées,” stop by a Montréal cabaret during Prohibition, sway to the sounds of disco at the Lime Light, or join a rave at Sona some twenty years later on. This panorama of Montréal dance history will also shed some light on how various cultures have made important contributions to the art form.
