A weekend in the heart of New France!

A summertime event, the Public Market is back for its 32nd edition! This incredible reenactment—recreating the atmosphere of a market day in Montréal during the French Regime—is brought to life by a host of authentic characters and features a range of captivating activities. In the Museum’s forecourt and on neighbouring streets, stroll among the stalls manned by merchants and craftspeople, learn about traditional Indigenous know-how and trades of the past, and join in the revelry showcasing the era’s music and dance. It all takes place in a festive ambience that will whisk you back to the 18th century, right in the heart of Old Montréal!
