For immediate release

Hewitt Equipment Limited contributed to the success of the benefit evening by hosting some 170 guests.

Montréal, November 21, 2012 – Over $200,000 was raised at the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation’s latest Major Donors Evening, on November 15. To salute Hewitt Equipment Limited’s 60th anniversary, the benefit evening was held at the company’s Pointe-Claire headquarters, with Mr. James W. (Jim) Hewitt serving as Honorary Chair.

The guests were treated to a tour of the D•tech room (remote equipment monitoring) and had a chance to try out a simulator used to train excavator operators and watch a presentation on the history of this dynamic company that has been part of the rural and urban growth of the entire province of Quebec and of Canada since February 1952.

Every year, in co-operation with a partner, the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation organizes a prestigious benefit event, the Major Donors Evening. This key benefit event is reserved for a small group of donors and gives them an opportunity to visit places that are normally off-limits or not yet accessible to others in Montréal.

The Pointe-à-Callière Foundation extends its sincere thanks to the individuals who attended the event and its partners and sponsors who helped make this important event in support of its mission possible. Special thanks go to Mr. James W. (Jim) Hewitt and to Hewitt Equipment Limited for so graciously hosting the major donors.
