Pointe-à-Callière reveals its activity program for the exhibition Heroes of Greece. The Age of Troy
(Montreal, August 20, 2026) — Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Archaeology and History Complex, is launching its cultural program for the exhibition Heroes of Greece. The Age of Troy. To enrich the visitor experience, this program combines historical, literary, philosophical, artistic, and cultural approaches to invite the public to deepen their exploration of Ancient Greece and the exhibition’s major themes.
The highly popular exhibition Heroes of Greece. Age of Troy immerses visitors into the Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey. The exhibition draws from history, mythology, and archaeology to help people explore the depths of these epic poems that have survived over centuries and continue to inspire us today.
Created as an extension of the exhibition, these program activities are for everyone. Visitors can explore the world of Greece through participatory activities, encounters with specialists, and visitor tools tailored to young children, including a label trail created by children that explains these artworks through their eyes.
A lecture series will also dive deeply into the history and archaeology of the Bronze and Iron ages and provide literary and philosophical interpretations of The Iliad and The Odyssey and their heroes. The program will include a live performance, a book club, a wine club dedicated to Greek wines, and drawing workshops inspired by the displayed works. These elements will weave together into a rich and engaging cultural tapestry that allows visitors to explore Ancient Greece from different perspectives and draw connections between history, archaeology, art, literature, and culture.

A child’s-eye view of the exhibition
As part of its collaboration with the École Socrates-Démosthène, an institution of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, Pointe-à-Callière invited 21 students from Grade 4 to write and illustrate a selection of labels for the exhibition. These young people interpreted the displayed works and objects using their own words and perspectives. This initiative has highlighted their creativity while giving visitors—especially younger ones—a unique and accessible way to explore the exhibition.
