During the Nuit blanche à Montréal and in collaboration with A/Maze, Pointe à-Callière is holding a 3D virtual escape game in the heart of the archaeological remains of Montréal’s birthplace! Working in teams, you will be asked to solve riddles that will get you ever closer to learning the legend of the Museum’s ghost. The answers will be revealed as you make your way along your virtual visit—will you be able to find them?

According to an old legend, a mysterious ghost has been known to appear at Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal’s archaeology and history complex, especially during the long winter season. For years, many people have tried to make contact with the ghost—alas, without success.

Who is this ghost? What is he doing in the Museum? To answer these questions, the Museum needs YOU! Of course, there will be a few obstacles and challenges along the way—the better to understand the story of this poor soul. When taking your virtual tour of the Museum, make sure to look into every nook and cranny to find the answers.

Gather the members of your team… good luck!

Where does the game take place?

The game will be available online, on computers only; it is a lot more difficult to play on a mobile device or tablet. You will receive a link to the game by email once you have registered.

How many players can be on a team?

We suggest 2 to 6 players per team, but only one registration per team is required.

Can we play if we are not physically in the same place together?

Yes, you can play remotely on different computers, but if you want to be in contact with each other, make sure to have another method available, such as a video messenger, Zoom, Teams, Google meet, or telephone. There will be no chat platform available for team members to use.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Yes, the game is only available by reservation and you must reserve a specific timeslot. Game space is limited. After making your reservation, you will receive an email with complete instructions.

How do we prepare for the game?

Each member of the team will need a computer with Internet access. The team leader can send the required game link to all other members so that they can create an account and have access to the game. We therefore suggest you log in a few minutes before the game’s specified start time to make sure everyone is ready.

How long does the game last?

The game time is unlimited, but plan to spend at least 90 minutes playing. The best times will be posted on our Facebook page!
