Inaugurated on October 14, 1966, the Montréal métro still inspires Montréalers with pride. A quick, pleasant and green means of transportation, it played a key role in the city’s evolution. It’s launch contributed to the evolution of the downtown core, and enabled the development of the underground city, a vast subterranean network that is accessible throughout the year. The network was expanded all the way to Laval in 2007. Today, three generations of rolling stock run together: the MR-63 (in service since 1966), the MR-73 (since 1976) and the AZUR (since 2016
