The burning of the parliament building in Montreal on April 25, 1849. Witnesses and defendants under the microscope of artificial intelligence
On April 25, 1849, in the midst of political turmoil, an angry mob set fire to the Montreal Parliament. The building burned to the ground, taking with it over 20,000 volumes and priceless archives. Today, artificial intelligence and geolocation allow us to reconstruct this event hour by hour. By analyzing depositions, these technologies reveal a Montreal society in upheaval, torn between political tensions and aspirations for change.
A real plunge into the past, where science and history meet to better understand the actors of this incendiary night!
