Free activities for the whole family!

Throughout the summer on the Pointe, enjoy a host of free, family-friendly activities inspired by the exhibition Heroes of Greece. The Age of Troy and the 325th anniversary of the Great Peace.

Come celebrate with us! Myths, tales, workshops, dance, and music are on the program. The Museum is also presenting activities in collaboration with the Canadian Stone Carving Festival and the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (Montréal Fire Department).

Firefighter Day!

With the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal
Delve into the world of firefighters and learn about the importance of fire prevention in everyday life. A fun and educational activity to raise awareness among young and old about developing the right instincts to ensure everyone’s safety!

Stone Carving

With the Canadian Stone Carving Festival
Discover the ancient art of stone carving and witness the impressive work carried out by passionate artisans as you explore this unique craft. A fascinating activity for the whole family!

Music, Dance, and Workshop

With the Orpheas folk troupe
Immerse yourself in the rhythm of folk dances and traditional Greek melodies performed by the Orpheas troupe from the Hellenic Community of Greater Montréal’s folklore workshop. A vibrant celebration of heritage and traditions that promises to whisk you away on a journey.

With Charles Brousseau
Handle instruments like the ellipsograph and compass to bring the mathematical concepts of ancient Greece to life. Explore the geographical reach and knowledge of the Greek empire.

A nod to the Odyssey: the construction of Odysseus’ ship, as described by Homer, step by step, from the felling of trees and shaping of wood to meticulous assembly. A meeting of mathematics, history, and ancient know-how.

Creative Workshops

With Yänonhchia’
Take part in a corn husk doll-making workshop with Yänonhchia’, led by Mélanie Savard, a Wendat artist and keeper of traditional knowledge. Learn the importance of corn in Wendat culture and find out how to transform its dried husks into handcrafted dolls. An activity both cultural and creative, for all ages.

With Basoa
Join Basoa in creating a terracotta figurine inspired by ancient Greece. Make your own object based on simple models and give free rein to your imagination in a fun and accessible workshop. A great activity for the whole family to enjoy together.

Educational Workshops

With PAAL, partageons le monde and the Kanienkehaka Traditional Council
Explore wampum with PAAL, partageons le monde. Learn about its historical role and its importance in upholding one’s word and commitments in First Nations. Create your own wampum and take part in a symbolic exchange to make a promise of peace and harmony among the cultures of Québec. Not to be missed!

Tales and Workshop

With Thomas Hellman
Come listen to Thomas Hellman as he revisits Greek tales and myths, accompanying himself on guitar. Weaving together stories, songs, and musings, he breathes new life into these ancient tales. Get swept up in a dialogue between ancient mythology, American folk music, and the tradition of Québec storytelling. A captivating experience for young and old alike!
