The art of sculpture at Pointe-à-Callière
Pointe-à-Callière will host 40 sculptors at the Canadian Stone Carving Festival. This three-day festival offers a unique opportunity to engage with professional sculptors and experience the art of stone carving up close. Public demonstrations and hands-on workshops are open to all!
A unifying theme: Mother Earth
In conjunction with the exhibition on the Olmecs and civilizations of the Gulf of Mexico, renowned for their millennia-old, colossal sculptures celebrating nature and agriculture, the theme of the 15th edition of the festival will focus on Agriculture. This theme encourages artists to explore our roots and culture and how farming crops such as corn have nourished the growth of civilizations around the world.
In the event's finale, on Sunday July 21 at 2:00 pm, all pieces created during the festival will be auctioned on site, with proceeds going to the charity Le CAP for mental health and art therapy.
