Join the party to celebrate summer in Old Montréal!

Don’t miss the party kicking off Summer on the Pointe, Pointe-à-Callière’s program of summer activities!

Held through a partnership with the Corridor Culturel for a second year, the programming features free activities; arts, music, and dance performances; and a relaxation zone outfitted with hammocks and Karibu bean bags. The Bistro L’Arrivage team will be on hand to provide refreshments.

The afternoon’s fun and family-friendly ambience will slowly give way to a party atmosphere as evening falls.

On the program:

Olmec Stamp Making Workshops — PAAL Partageons le monde
2 pm to 5 pm

How about a temporary tattoo? Immerse your whole family in Olmec culture by creating your own stamp inspired by an archaeological collection from Veracruz, Mexico. Print patterns on paper or on yourself, using ink made from nopal (cactus) extract. What fun!

Papel Picado — Maria Ezcurra
5 pm to 7 pm

Take this colourful workshop that involves cutting patterns out of folded tissue paper to reveal a magnificent work of art! Bonus: you get to take your artwork home! Ages 8 and up (younger children can take part with adult assistance)

Ballet Mexicain de Montréal
2 pm to 3 pm

Le Ballet Mexicain de Montréal is one of the three artistic groups representing the Agora de la Culture mexicaine in Montréal. It has become one of the city’s important folkloric dance groups. Get ready to witness the beauty of the group’s dances and costumes. The perfect way to explore a facet of Mexican culture!

Banda Azul de Oaxaca — Music
3 pm to 4 pm

Originating in southern Mexico, this group of musicians will get you dancing to the sounds of traditional Mexican music. Not to be missed!

Artistic performance, music group, and DJ
4 pm to 10 pm

Through a partnership with the Corridor Culturel, discover local artists who are sure to thrill you all evening long!

Also… an opportunity to see the main exhibition of the summer, Olmecs and the Civilizations of the Gulf of Mexico, which will exceptionally remain open in the evening, until 8 pm ($).
