2025-2026 Annual Campaign

Love, Unearthed – Preserving the Treasures Beneath Our Feet

As children, we dreamed of discovering treasure filled with gold coins and jewels! With time, we come to understand that true treasures are of a completely different nature. Their value cannot be measured in material wealth, but in emotions, knowledge, and connections with those who came before us. They make us fall in love with our history.

Pointe-à-Callière knows these treasures, buried beneath our feet, well: they are protected and showcased at the Museum.

Pointe-à-Callière, a place where history emerges from the ground

Beneath our feet lie authentic and precious traces of Montreal:
-A handwritten map from 1760, revealing a city that is still little known and surprising.
-A sundial engraved on slate, designed specifically for Montreal's latitude.
-The collector sewer built between 1832 and 1838, a rare place where you can literally walk through history.

These vestiges are not mere objects: they are genuine gateways to the past, capable of transforming a visit into an immersive and deeply moving experience.
They help us better understand where we come from and forge an intimate connection with our city.

In order for these treasures to continue to be discovered, admired, and passed on, they must be protected.

Goal of the 2025-2026 annual campaign – Love, Unearthed

The goal of the Buried Love annual campaign is to raise $100,000 by summer 2026.

This campaign aims to:
-preserve archaeological remains in situ,
-restore and document objects from excavations,
-study and showcase material traces of the past,
-and allow everyone to experience an unforgettable encounter with Montreal's history... because yes, falling in love six feet underground is possible.

Each visitor experiences a unique moment, a true coup de cœur.

Testimonials from three favorites, one story: that of Montreal

They fell in love six feet under!

-Larissa, a newcomer to the city, discovered her host city through the exhibition Crossroads Montréal, and fell in love with its history.
-Monique, for her part, found memories of family meals from her childhood in the collection of antique earthenware.
-Eloan, 7, left in awe after exploring the collector sewer, which he prefers when it is lit up in red—his favorite color.

Each visit gives rise to a different attachment, a very personal emotion, a hidden love story.
