Pointe-à-Callière is managed by an independent non-profit corporation. Its mission is to safeguard, showcase and bring visitors to know and appreciate the Montréal of yesterday and today through its exhibition and communication, education, conservation and research activities revolving around our city’s archaeological and historical heritage. The Museum also strives to forge bonds with local communities and regional, national and international networks concerned with archaeology, history and urban issues, for the benefit of its visitors. Aside from the archaeological remains that it protects and displays, Pointe-à-Callière manages the City of Montréal’s archaeological collections, conducts a wide-ranging research program and manages artifacts donated to its ethnohistorical collections.
