Pointe-à-Callière marks the flag’s 75th anniversary!

In 1948, the Fleurdelisé was adopted as the official flag of Québec.

But Québec’s flag didn’t always look the way it does now! Journey back to the early 20th century, when the idea of creating a distinctive flag for French Canadians became increasingly popular. Learn more about the origins of the Fleurdelisé and the years following its adoption to better understand how it evolved.

See some 30 authentic objects from the National Assembly, the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, and Pointe-à-Callière’s collections! Various versions of the flag, its origins, the Fleurdelisé symbol, and the role that key people played in its adoption will be highlighted, arousing a full range of emotions surrounding our provincial flag.
