The Pointe-à-Callière Foundation Raises $200,000 at the Montréal Builders Club Benefit Evening

For immediate release

Montréal, June 12, 2013 – The Pointe-à-Callière Foundation raised $200,000 at its recent Montréal Builders Club benefit evening, on June 3. The evening was hosted by Honorary Chair John LeBoutillier, Chair of the Board of Industrial Alliance and the first President of the Foundation.

Thanks to the support of generous guests, donors and sponsors, the funds raised will go to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation to support the Museum’s development. This latest edition of the Builders Club dinner was held on the theme of the Beatles, in tune with the exhibition now running at the Museum. Guests enjoyed cocktails against the backdrop of the exceptional view of the city and Old Montréal from the Espace 360 Montréal room, atop the new Mariners' House pavilion. They also visited the exhibition, The Beatles in Montréal, and shared a gourmet meal served in the unique setting of the archaeological crypt. The guests paid a special tribute to Mr. LeBoutillier for his longstanding involvement with the Museum and its Foundation. A number of door prizes were also drawn, thanks to our generous partners and sponsors.

The Foundation wishes to thank Mr. LeBoutillier, and the evening’s donors, guests, partners and sponsors, including the SAQ, who helped to make this event an unprecedented success. Mr. LeBoutillier, a highly regarded businessman, sits on numerous boards; he is Chair of the Board of Groupe Deschênes Inc. and Vice-Chair of the Board of the TechnoCentre éolien Gaspésie-les Iles and a director of the Société Pointe-à-Callière, SGFC, Cartons St-Laurent, MAZARIN Inc., SEMAFO Inc. and Stornoway Diamond Corporation. He has served as President and CEO of several companies, including Sidbec-Dosco (now ArcelorMital) for 13 years, and of the Iron Ore Company of Canada. Mr. LeBoutillier has also chaired the Conseil du patronat du Québec and been a member of several Canadian, North American and European commissions and industry associations.
