The Museum is accessible for visitors with limited mobility, with the exception of the archaeological crypt (the Where Montréal Was Born exhibition). For more information and rates, please contact the Museum reception staff. It is also possible to borrow a wheeling chair on site (if available).

You may take photos (without flash) and video in the Museum’s public spaces and exhibitions rooms.

Driving Directions

From Downtown
  • Berri, Saint-Uurbain, Bleury(which is du Parc north of Sherbrooke), and Mcgill (which is Beaver Hall Hill north of Viger) streets all lead south to de la Commune street, which runs along the Old Port to 350 Place Royale.
From the North Shore
  • Take Highway 13 south to the Metropolitan Expressway (40 east). Follow the signs to the Décarie Expressway (15 South). Take the Décarie Expressway to the Ville-Marie Expressway (720 East). Take the Ville-Marie Expressway to the Berri-Saint-Laurent exit. Turn right and keep going until you reach de la Commune Street. Turn right onto de la Commune Street and keep going until you reatch 350 Place Royale.
  • Take Highway 15 south to the Metropolitan Expressway (40 east). Follow the signs to the Décarie Expressway (15 South). Take the Décarie Expressway to the Ville-Marie Expressway (720 East). Take the Ville-Marie Expressway to the Berri-Saint-Laurent exit. Turn right and keep going until you reach de la Commune Street. Turn right onto de la Commune Street and keep going until you reatch 350 Place Royale.
From the South Shore
  • Champlain Bridge: Take the Wellington Street exit, and follow the signs to Old Montréal. The street along the waterfront in the Old Port is de la Commune. Turn left on de la Commune Street and keep going until reach 350 Place Royale.
  • Victoria Bridge: About one kilometre after you come off the bridge, turn right onto Mill Street (opposite the shopping centre). Follow it to de la Commune Street  (over a small canal). Turn right onto de la Commune and keep going until you reach 350 Place Royale.
  • Jacques Cartier Bridge: Keep to the right when you come off the bridge. At first set of lights (de Maisonneuve Blvd.) turn right. Continue along de Maisonneuve, keeping to the left, past Amherst and Saint-Hubert streets, and other smaller streets. Turn left onto Berri Street and continue along it to de la Commune Street, in Old Montréal. Turn right onto de la Commune and keep going until you reach 350 Place Royale.
From the West Island
  • Highway 417 East: Follow the signs to the Décarie Expressway (15 south). Take the Décarie Expressway to the Ville-Marie Expressway (720 East). Take the Ville-Marie Expressway to the Berri-Saint-Laurent exit. Turn right and keep going until you reach de la Commune Street. Turn right onto de la Commune Street and keep going until you reach 350 Place Royale.
