2012-05-08

Saturday, May 26 from 11 am to 7 pm
Sunday, May 27 from 11 am to 6 pm

Pointe-à-Callère's Cultural Feast is a free outdoor event, which this year will take place in Place D'Youville, in the area around the Museum, features performances, presentations, activities, food kiosks, talks and demonstrations by food enthusiasts, and much more. A wonderful celebration of the beauty of Montréal’s cultural diversity!

This year: Japan is in the spotlight
Calligraphy, kite making, and origami workshops, a kiosk where you can try on yukatas (kimonos), pastry and noodle counters: Japan has pride of place at several spots on the site.

A tent dedicated exclusively to Japan will also host talks and demonstrations all weekend long. Visitors can watch karate, iaido, and kendo demonstrations, observe a tea ceremony, listen to a lecture on sake, see a sushi demonstration, attend a tea workshop, and take in a traditional dance performance.

Specialities to sample
Several Montréal restaurateurs will be set up on site to sell their specialities. Food from around the world, desserts, sweet treats, and other delights: endless opportunities to tempt your taste buds!

Captivating rhythms
Artists from various countries will perform on the main stage at the corner of Place D’Youville and Saint-François-Xavier streets, including the always-popular group Arashi Daiko.

French cuisine comes on with a song
Le Théâtre des Marronniers and the soloists of Emelthée, special guests of Pointe-à-Callière's Cultural Feast, offer up a sparkling stage performance of a musical production created in Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy. Performances on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am.

Children’s activities
Face-painting, games, and craft workshops will bring a smile to children’s faces.
