Let’s imagine Montréal in its early days, when everyone met at the public market. Children play the roles of habitants, merchants, artisans and soldiers as they learn about one aspect of the saga of New France.
Who is the real Santa Claus? Is it Befana, St. Nicholas, young Lucy? Or our “own” Santa? This is the Museum’s special Christmas gift for youngsters visiting the remains.
How about spending Halloween at the Museum this year? Students will learn about the Celtic origins of Halloween and related beliefs (thrills and chills guaranteed). Everyone knows that the Museum’s remains are haunted!
This activity offers young people an opportunity to delve into the world of the Amerindians who frequented Callière Point long before the founding of Montréal. Young explorers will encounter nomadic and sedentary groups… and handle objects that will help them better understand their ways of life. However, they’ll have to be cunning and sharp, as numerous challenges await them. An enthralling experience that’s not to be missed!
